When I first landed in Seoul, I knew life was about to change — but I didn’t realize just how much. Between the bright neon streets, the scent of sizzling street food, and the hum of a city that never slows down, I found myself completely swept up in a world unlike any I had ever known. Deep down, I knew this would be more than just a relocation. It felt like a chance to explore, grow, and maybe even reinvent a part of myself.
As a British-Czech expat, adapting to Korea has been an adventure of its own. From navigating a language I don’t speak to embracing cultural differences that sometimes leave me confused (or slightly embarrassed 😅), every day brings something unexpected.
I started Diary of a Lost Seoul out of both love and necessity.
I wanted a way to stay connected with friends and family — many of whom were asking what life here is like. They wanted to see Korea through my eyes, and this space became a way for them to peek into this wild, exciting, and deeply personal chapter.
But this blog is also for me.
For journaling. For introspecting. For healing. For expressing thoughts and emotions. For capturing moments before they pass.
It’s a memoir of sorts — a collection of reflections I want to keep and share with those who might resonate. And along the way, I’ve discovered a love for writing that’s been buried deep down, waiting to surface. I never quite knew what or how to write... until now. Until this place. Until this moment.
I’ve always adored Sex and the City, and secretly dreamed of being little bit like Carrie Bradshaw — sitting in a café, tapping away at my keyboard, capturing life through stories and reflection. So here I am, a couple of weeks in, and I’m doing just that — following the spark, chasing the dream, allowing it to unfold. This city, with all its contrasts and beauty, gave me the space and inspiration to begin.
But this isn’t just a diary.
It’s not only about documenting my life abroad — it’s also about creating, connecting, and sharing the passions that light me up. This is my space for storytelling — through my lens, my voice, and my heart.
As part of LeFitko, I’ll be blending my personal journey with my focus on holistic wellbeing, fitness and movement, life coaching, and healthy eating. I’ve always believed in nurturing the mind, body, and spirit — and through this blog, I now get to bring that to life in a more personal, storytelling way. With real food, real movement, real emotions, and real moments.
So whether you’re here to explore Korea, find wellness inspiration, or simply follow a new story — I’m so happy you’re here.
🗒️ What can you expect in this Diary?
✨ Honest reflections on expat life — the good, the confusing, and the hilarious
✨ Cultural insights & everyday moments that catch me off guard or lift me up
✨ Hidden gems and must-see spots in Seoul
✨ Food adventures (from street eats to tofu soups and everything in between!)
✨ Personal growth, fitness, and those messy, beautiful in-betweens
This is all very new to me — I feel like I’m back at school... the school of life, for sure.
I don’t really know what I’m doing. I’m not a trained writer. I don’t have a master plan or a clear path. But I have this deep, persistent desire to write — and it keeps rising up inside me, asking to be heard.
I don’t know how many people will read this, but something within me is urging me to do it anyway. This voice inside is telling me to write — one story at a time — each with a little more confidence, a little more depth.
So here I am — following that voice and letting my heart lead the way.Because this space is for expression. For creation. For connection.
And if you’re reading this... thank you.
Let’s discover this vibrant country — and ourselves — one post at a time.
